I know, I know…

…but sometimes I get on a roll!

I gotta say something about the brilliant Sheila Jaffe.  The cast she assembled for “The Fighter” was perfection.  I have always been so impressed by her impeccable taste in actors, writers and directors.  Always inspired by her formidable work throughout the years both independently and with the incredible Georgianne Walken.  Always amused by her infectious sense of humor!!!!!

She’s quite simply…the best!

And just a quick…

…congratulations to Melissa Leo, one of the all time great actresses, on her Oscar win.  I know this is late coming but heck…I get distracted.  Her performance in “The Fighter” is transcendent.

Melissa’s one of those actresses whose work should be studied.  Why?  Because when I watch her I never see her.  I always she, hear and feel the woman I’m meant to believe she is.  I have always and will always be a huge fan!  She’s one lady who never disappoints.  Always amazing, inspiring and surprising in all the best ways.

Bravo, extraordinary Melissa!

I can’t help it!

I keep thinking about, “Gegen Morgen,” the film I saw in Berlin right before I left.  The one my friend, Matthias Kress, co-produced.  It really is so great.  The acting, directing, writing…everything.  It’s about a man accused of a vicious murder who is acquitted due to insufficient evidence and the officers assigned to protect him from a public that’s convicted and condemned him.  There’s so much more to it than that but…anyway…I wanted to give a shout out to the folks responsible…
