“Waitress” to Open 9th Method Fest

The late Adrienne Shelly’s Sundance ‘07 romantic comedy “Waitress” starring Keri Russell will open the 9th The Method Fest Independent Film Festival, taking place March 29 - April 5 in Calabasas, CA. Highlights of the festival include the world premieres of Patrick Donnelly’s drama “Divergence,” Ian Gurvitz’s comedy “LA Blues,” and Walt Becker’s comedy, “Schooled.” Slated U.S. debuts are “Bridge 13″ (Iran), “El Carnaval de Sodoma” (Mexico) and “Trade Routes” (Bulgaria). Coppola’s Latest

“Youth Without Youth” Lands at Sony Classics by Steven Rosen (March 23, 2007)

Sony Pictures Classics has acquired North American rights to “Youth Without Youth,” the first film in a decade by Francis Ford Coppola. The company is planning a late Fall release this year. Adapted from a novella by Romanian author Mircea Eliade, Coppola wrote, directed and produced the new film, which stars Tim Roth. The actor plays Dominic Matei, described as, “an elderly professor whose mysterious rejuvenation heightens his intelligence and whose apparent immortality makes him a target for the Nazis in this World War II-era parable.”
